Care Instructions for original basketry work
Your piece of art is made from hand gathered natural materials. Keep out of direct sunlight, as this will fade and degrade the natural fibres & colours.
Do not let it get it wet, or keep it in a prolonged exposure in a damp environment. If used to display fruit or vegetable items (apples, etc) do not let the fruit sit in the vessel long enough to go soft/moldy.
If your piece has weeping birch, or pussywillow, or seed pods, please understand these are fragile materials and some will naturally break off if jostled. Try to keep jostling to a minimum.
Moving the piece by placing your hands *inside* the vessel is often a good method. The occasional lost piece can always be glued back on with a very small dab of wood glue.
If the piece gets dusty, please use canned air to gently blow away the dust. If you have any concerns at all about your new piece, please don’t hesitate to contact the artist directly: christijyork@gmail.com
